once upon a time, this passionate rose gardener grew 300+ rose plants in her home garden and for many years won local, district and national horticultural and arrangement design awards. she also served as an american rose society horticulture judge and consulting rosarian. she is also a lifetime member and bronze medal recipient of the california coastal rose society. the rose has inspired brenda as her most beautiful subject from which to paint, photograph, sculpt, design and live with. the size of her rose garden is smaller these days but their inspiration continues to grow.
in 2004, 'lady bren', a beautiful miniature pink rose was named in her honor, and in the same year, the sweet 'chelsea brittlyn' rose was named after her only daughter.
born from her desire to design with plant material all year round, the world of succulents quickly became a companion addiction and dominate feature in her lovely garden.

the succulent souls are the fusion of brenda's passion for nature, fantastical imagination and experience as a soft sculpture artist. the succulent souls emerge from the essence of these beautiful plants. her hope is to convey an enchanting message through her art.
the passion for sculpting began when brenda studied life casting with brilliant teachers such as david e. parvin (who sadly passed away in 2014).
